Roller coating
We help our customers save money by retreading rollers and wheels. We retread the worn-out rollers and vulcanize them with new coating. The old coating is turned off, the core is blasted and provided with a binder that ensures the new coating adheres to the metal.

Roller cores
When manufacturing new rolls with cores of steel, aluminum and stainless steel, it is a great advantage to get the roll complete from one supplier. The cores are manufactured according to the customer’s specification. The customer must dimension the core for the intended load.
Unimer is responsible for the delivery of the complete roll, which saves both time and money. Take the opportunity to order a spare roll from us when retreading next time to minimize time for future replacements.
We also carry out repairs to damaged rolls and also replace ball bearings if these are submitted for retreading.
Rubber and silicone coatings
We have all the polymers commonly found on the market. Regardless of color or hardness, we have the material. The properties and chemical resistance of the rubber types vary. The choice of rubber qualities and coating thickness depends on the environment in which the roller will operate.
We have extensive experience with coatings in silicone, nitrile and EPDM, among others.
Polyurethane coatings
Polyurethane is a very durable elastomer that has good resistance to several chemicals, solvents, acids and alkalis. The material also has good resistance to oil, gasoline and is weather and ozone resistant. Compared to rubber, polyurethane maintains a high elasticity over a wider hardness and temperature range.
Cast polyurethanes, also called cast elastomers, are used for roller coatings, which can be adapted to different areas of use. There are two grades of polyurethane for coating. Polyether-based polyurethane (EU) has good mechanical properties such as abrasion resistance, impact penetration, cut resistance and pressure absorption. Polyester-based polyurethane (AU) has good chemical and solvent resistance and good paint absorption.
